Village Museum

The Village Museum in Dar-es-Salaam is an open-air museum with examples of 20 authentic traditional huts and other buildings from different parts of Tanzania.

There are artists and craftsmen in residence and on most afternoons traditional dance troupes and musicians, including drummers, perform. Guests can ‘have a go’ at many of these activities.

The Village Museum is a very good half day visit and we include it in all our itineraries for those guests staying 2 or more nights in Dar-es-Salaam. We can also arrange a visit for those staying one night.
